A subsill is a specialized, sectioned flashing profile fitted underneath a window assembly. In modern weatherproofing systems, it acts as a critical catchpan. Any water that penetrates the window joins or tracks, is collected by the subsill and discharged via engineered drainage weep holes before it can compromise the sub-floor framing, satisfying strict structural building compliance.
